Hyderabad: Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories on Tuesday presented scholarships to 58 students from Zilla Parishad High Schools in Hyderabad region, for the academic year 2018-2019. These scholarships are awarded to the students who completed their Secondary School Examination (SSC) with remarkable grades. Many schools surrounding Dr. Reddy’s manufacturing facilities produce top performers every year. However, most of these students discontinue their higher education due to lack of financial aid. To bridge this gap, under the School Improvement Program, the company identifies bright students every year and rewards them with the post SSC Scholarship. Secondary education is the most crucial stage in the educational hierarchy as it prepares the students for higher education and the professional world. For the academic year 2018-2019, Dr. Reddy’s has selected 504 students from 229 ZP High Schools from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh (29 schools from Telangana and 200 Schools from Andhra Pradesh). The company has contributed Rs 54.40 lakh for this purpose.
